Portavadie is stunnnnning. (And it doesn't hurt that there's a bloody amazing restaurant next to the ferry terminal either!)

Cruachan Farm near Killin is a nice, small, quite basic site, if you're into that kind of thing. The tent area is separated from the caravans by some trees, but it is a bit hilly. Stunning views and lots of walking etc nearby. Some nice pubs in Killin too.

We stayed at red squirrel in glencoe about 10yrs ago-fantastic locations a aNd great pub nearby. Can't vouch for it now, but certainly worth having a look on ukcampsite :)

High Ridge in Aviemore or Rothiemurchus or Glenmore, all in Aviemore. St Fillans caravan site in Perthshire is lovely. Findhorn (toilets clean but old fashioned) or Lossiemouth also good if you like beaches.

Beecraigs near Linlithgow is ace - we've been twice this year - new caravan pitches are huge. Tent field is on a slope though...

Cobeland near Aberfoyle is good too - facilities a bit dated but sparkling clean. Have both camped and caravanned here lots - mostly level grass pitches.

This one is lovely, facilities spotless, covered camp kitchen, stunning views, maybe an east coast thing but never seen a midgie there yet. Close enough to St. Andrews for all its attractions but far enough out to be positively rural.
