Help! Tent drying nightmare!

Oh dear god. As of trying to dry and clean our 4-man tent (lovely muddy weekend in snowdonia) in the Manchester weather wasn't difficult enough.... Now the neighbours' cats have decided to spray it while it was hanging on our washing line.
Anyone of you camping wizards know how to get rid of the horrible cat stench? Or how to prevent it happening again? DH and I are nearly boking whenever we go near.

mix bio powder with water in a spray bottle and spray the tent? might have to re-seal the tent afterwards.
or get a pet odour spray from the supermarket? (don't know if the fabric can stand this, though).

Thanks mousymouse. How does one re-seal a tent? Using one of those aerosol sprays to waterproof things?

Who knows when we'll next go camping anyway - am nearly 18 wks with our second. Tempted to just shove the thing back in the loft and say "whoops, we'll have to buy a superdooper new tent" when the mouldy beast reappears in 2 years' time... Grin
No! I must not. It's a lovely tent.

I know! ifeelloved I hate them. They poo in our garden and spray everything that's out for more than a minute.

we use a waterproof spray from an outdoor store.
hate cat pee, nearlt as bad a fox poo!

Nikwax tends to be very good, but tbh I'd chat to the manufacturers as well. Bloody cats! I'm drying my tent this v minute and now feel vparanoid Grin

Cheers, I'll try these suggestions.

The weather here turned mental - just as we were about I get the tent in after lovely sunshine, it HAILED, three days in a row!!! DH ended up febrezing the tent in desperation at the cat stink. So we plan to stock up on waterproofing spray before we next go camping, and spray it on the site.

If it fits in the washing machine then I think I would wash it with the right Nikwax product, otherwise I would do it in the bath, (maybe treat the can wee bit first with something stronger to make sure you get the smell off) and then reproof it. You can get wash in products for this too. God I would be furious.
