Thanks for reading, last year I bought 4 Gelert XL SIMS for all of us and while the DS's and DH slept soundly I had a terrible nights sleep.I sleep on my side and wondered if this was the problem flet like my hips were breaking in the morning.
So much to my DH's annoyance Im looking at a double airbed...any recommendations?I prefer the ones where the ridges go horizantally or vertically like this and not the ones with the bumps these. Any recommendations?

We have a coleman one that had lots of good reviews on amazon but think you would probably consider it to have bumps rather than ridges

Friend has an aerobed which is pricey but much more like a proper mattress.

We tried a few airbeds and then got a Coleman comfort. It was the best of the bunch.... If that is what you are after.
However ( just to muddy the waters Smile... we ditched it for an alpkit fat airic (think they are called dozers now)a few years back ...and was totally converted.

Thanks all.I dont think DH would trust me to buy anymore SIMS so looks like the Alpkit dozer is out the window.

How about a cheap airbed or campbed and put your SIM on top of it? (Wrapped up in a sheet or something to keep the sandwich together). It would be a shame to get more comfort but then be cold (viz. lots of previous camping threads about how people have to add cardboard/foil/fleeces/duvets to their airbeds to avoid freezing).

I haven't tried this but tried two thin SIMS on top of each other before giving up and getting a Dozer. I'm a side sleeper too and it really does make a difference.

Wonder if dozer is better than thermarest basecamp which is what I have now?

poppyboo · 10/04/2012 18:24

OP have you seem thermarest dreamtime? That would really suit you but it's about £150 and it's big when rolled! It memory foam on sim.

Oh my I love the Thermarest dreamtime but WAY out of my budget .
