As you can probably tell we are not really campers but enjoy the freedom and social side of camping. Looking for somewhere lovely in 4-5 hr max drive from Swansea (preferably not Wales this time). We would probably want to be near a beach but can be persuaded for a fab site with other benefits! Any ideas?

Kelham Heath in Norfolk. Near a beach (either car or catch the steam train from the camp site), static caravans and you can cycle from the site.

Sorry it's kelling Heath. Not kelham.

North Devon and the tarka trail for the cycling? Instow or Westwood ho beach, the latter rock pooling aswell.

Wow thanks all - all going onto the list for further research. Would love to visit Norfolk but it's a 6-7hr drive for us from Swansea (did Harvest a couple of years back and the drive was evil!)

Sandy Balls in the New Forest? Or Whitemead in the Forest of Dean?
Both good with children, and you can take your own 'van/tent or hire a caravan or lodge.
