Annecy area for 3 weeks - too long?

Hi All,

As above really! We are planning on camping near Lac Annecy for 3 weeks, although I am wondering if it will be a little too long? Don't fancy repitching the tent somewhere else - plan to chill out and let the little ones have fun dotting around.

Have never been to the area before, what do you think? We did do 3 weeks elsewhere in France (same pitch) last year and that was fine....

No, 3 weeks will fly by it is such an amazing area. You can reach Geneva easily as a day trip, there is loads to do there but you will need the Swiss motorway tax disk.
I'm rather Envy

The lake at Annecy is the best I've been to, it's so clean and the views are beautiful.

The town has things to do and great play parks

The mountains are great, with steams to paddle and splash in.

For history there is the area where the war story is told on boards as you walk along.

There are riding stables run by an english lady google Elevage de Marly

At Geneva you'll find the car museum, lake activities, the history, etc

Thanks for the info!!

DC's will be 5 and 2 when we go, so looking forward to it! Glad there are playparks, etc and the lake area seems to offer a lot.

If we did take a day trip to Geneva - what is this tax disc you need? Is our own one not sufficient? Thanks for pointing that out, we have thought about Geneva but I had no idea about the disc - if you could let me know, that would be great! Thanks

The tax disc allows you on to the Swiss motorways, like a toll in advance. Buy it at the first newsagent past the border. You stick it in the windscreen - I think it tells you where, but ask otherwise.

From Annecy you can also get up to La Plagne etc. Most of the ski resorts offer summer activities too.
