We have just taken delivery of our much longed for 5m bell tent and DH and I are off for a trial run in a couple of weeks to Welsummer in Kent for a long weekend whilst DS is with his grandparents.

My question for all of you seasoned bell-tenters out there is what do you think we need to take (by "need" I mean what should we take to make it lovely Smile we have the bare camping necessities)

I am specifically interested in bell-tent friendly lamps/lanterns and anything else people take with them to make the whole experience a bit, well, cosy.

We don't have a big car so space is limited but I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Envy I don't have a bell tent but if I did I would get one of these I am thinking of getting one for my patio parasol. Not sure if you'd "need" it though!

Oh I know what you mean, it is lovely but we have a quarter inner tent (for DS, just so we can pretend to have a tiny bit of privacy post his bedtime ;) ) so I don't think we'll be able to use one Sad - I am guessing lanterns may be the way we need to go...

Rugs: Check - Ikea obliged Smile
Bunting and Fairylights: definitely on the list!

Any advice on lanterns? Something that looks nice and also gives out a fair bit of light (i.e. not the single tealight lanterns we have just bought which give out as much light as a birthday candle....)

If the weather is ok, yes we will be having a campfire. We chose the site because they encourage you to have campfires and will bring wood to you etc.

All very exciting, only 2 and a bit weeks to go Grin
