Hope it's nice and warm for you. We have camped at Easter and had icicles inside the tent. We survived it, slept in every item of clothing I had taken!

Hope it's toasty and warm for you!

ooh i might go and see if ther are any in my local primark

we camped in october half term and it was fine!
thermals, primark fleecey sleepsuits and nice warm sleeping bags... kids were lovely and snug

MrsMc82 · 01/04/2012 10:54

our local news weather man said theres more chance of it being a white easter then there was of a white xmas....he did very quickly suggest that it was unlikely it would acually snow but it did worry me slighty!!!

we went oct last year too and had a super time with lots of layers on so should be fine - I'm just a bit ocd about DS being in multiple layers at all times - feel twitchy if he's not in a vest even in a heat wave haha! - poor child!

actually prefer to be on the coooer side when we camp as hate getting all sweaty in the tent!!! :o

Oh no! We're off for the Bank Holiday weekend too. Is it going to be absolutely freezing?

Misssss · 01/04/2012 16:47

I went last night... Lasted until about 11pm. Then I got in the car, drove to the nearest hotel and begged them for a room. I hate the cold though and the temp was a lot colder than the forecast had suggested.

MrsMc82 · 01/04/2012 17:20

Forecast isn't amazing - and we're forecast snow on tuesday but who know how many time the forecast'll change for the weekend between now and then..... :o

I am rather glad we're going to a site where they allow fires!!! :o

Yes, our site allows fires too, thank goodness! We're layering up like mad, so hopefully be fine. Apparently, the layers below you are almost more important than the ones on top so we're doing foil backed camping mat + inflatable mattress + blanket + sheet + sleeping bag + duvet. Kids will have socks and hats on and sleep in tracksuit bottoms and tops.... Grin

MrsMc82 · 02/04/2012 20:42

laughing at our determination to go even if the weathers dire!!! :o :o

part of me thinks its a bit mad but I'm dying to get into the outdoors...............
and i actually have a fab time even if its rubbish weather - nothing quite beats being in the tent snuggled up together in sleeping bags when its raining outside!

I'm the same! I reckon that both kids, DH and myself will all be squished in the same sleeping bag for warmth Grin

MrsMc82 I went into Primark to get one of the bargain fleecy sleepsuits and found the thermal tops for £1. I bought two girls' ones for DS (they didn't have any boys' ones left and I can't see what's girly about them anyway) sadly they didn't have leggings in his size (3-4) but I wish I'd bought the 5-6 now because he has very long legs and they'd have to be bigger to go over his nappy anyway.

DS wore the fleece sleepsuit all Saturday afternoon, it's a bit short and wide on him, may end up having to cut the feet off before long, but he loves it. Thanks for the tip off.

We're not going this weekend though. I like the idea of snuggling up in a warm bed when it's cold but I don't want to have to go to bed at 7pm to get warm. DH won't consider a fire until DS is older.

Hope all you intrepid types have fun, and stay warm.

MrsMc82 · 03/04/2012 19:41

Glad you picked up some bargains Quenelle :o

not feeling particulary intrepid today mind you - sat on sofa with pjs, huge dressing gown and sippers on and heating on full blast and am still a bit chilly Confused hoping mulled cider will make all the difference this weekend Wink

I got the thermo vests but only had age 2-3 they're fab(on ds3 not me). no sleepsuits left.
Thanks for tip :)
