Thanks for the quick reply - is it one where you bring own tent - we are plannig on keeping the costs as low as possible - thus the lake/river rather than swimming pool requirement.

We are off here though that's about 8 hours drive - can't wait. How about les alicourts or fierbois both in the Loire, about 5 hours drive. Its a lovely area Grin

What's your budget per night and when are you going? Do you particularly want river or lake swimming or is that just to keep the costs down? I'm sure someone will correct me but most of the lake & river swimming sites I've seen are 7+ hours from calais and lots of modest and reasonable sites further north have pools. We're going to Le Prunay in June for ?14 a night for 4 of us with the Acsi camping card. Given the price of petrol might it be worth travelling less but paying more for a site.
