Me and DS are off in our little campervan. Just 12 miles down the road, but thought it would be good to start early this year! Anyone else?

My new tent just arrived so there may be some camping just outside the back door! The weather is fabulous right now - is it where you are?

MissGreatBritain · 23/03/2012 14:07

Yep - it's fab. Although the forecast temperature for tomorrow night is 4 degrees, so think I'll take extra covers Grin. We're in Norfolk btw.

We're going to our static caravan, does that count?

I can't decide what to pack though. It's beautiful at the moment but who knows what it'll be like tomorrow and Sunday Grin.

I really must get off here and go and pack something!!

We're going to the Yorkshire Dales in the tent. Really looking forward to it!

Which site you going to DesolationAngel ? always looking for good Yorkshire sites as we are in Harrogate and don't always like to go far! :o

DesolationAngel · 23/03/2012 19:20

We are going to Knight Stainforth, first time though so will have to let you know. We like this one and it won't be far from you.

Please report back!

Quenelle · 27/03/2012 16:13

How was it then intrepid campers? Was it very cold in the evenings? Did you have to go to bed early to keep warm?

wohmum · 27/03/2012 22:46

Blackberry wood was lovely, but we were chilly at night !
Kids were ok with4season sleeping bags, but dh and I were both cold with only 3 season bags.

Was great to have a campfire at night before turning in though- otherwise we'd have been tuckedin as soon as it went dark I think

Quenelle · 28/03/2012 11:56

Glad you had a good time wohmum.

We went! Wild camping in north Scotland with both DCs. It was cold at night but we had thermals, socks and fleece pjs on so were v snug. There was frost on the tents in the morning and water in the bowls had frozen! But as soon as the sun got onto our spot, it was glorious. It was fab.
