Calling all hardy campers

Has anyone camped in Scotland or is it just always to cold?

Yep - used to camp in the Highlands with parents and am about to embark on the first trip with my own kids. May is fine - usually drier in the Highlands then (or we're just lucky).

It's not the cold that is the problem, it's the midges!

Hence camping in May!

I can't WAIT to go.....didn't go last year and am pining away.

Once you've got the midge problem solved, get out your thermals, hot water bottle, blanket for under the airbed and fan heater!! warm as toast!

We love Scotland, Dumfries and Galloway is lovely and not too far for us, although we have friends who live there so I haven't camped there since i was a child.

Can't wait to start camping again, i spent ages looking at the new Argos catalogue camping stuff last night - just in case there was something vital we haven't got yet!!

What about camping with a very small baby?
I mean, one that isn't even born yet. But maybe in two weeks??
