we are thinking of hiring a camper van (possibly not brave enough for tents) and going to Dorset for a week in August. Any suggestions for good camp sites? I went last year with a friend and fell in love with Studland Bay and surrounds. I think dds would find it all v. exciting. any other tips for first time wimpish campers?

Have just seen this. We went to Dorset in our camper van last August and had a lovely time. We stayed at Ridge Farm near Wareham . Very nice site. Lovely lady in onsite shop selling newspapers and croissants.
The weather was rotten when we went unfortunately.
Did most of the usual things (except Monkey world - too expensive). Lulworth Castle was excellent. When we went they had jousting and a bouncy castle.

How do you go about hiring a camper van? Do you need special category driving licence?
