Ok, I want to take dc camping this summer.
In England, 1-2 hours from London (maybe three)
Something fairly gentle for us newbies as I know boys will love it.
Probably on my own as dp will be working.
Any ideas?

How old are your boys?

I can't recommend a specific campsite there but the Isle of Wight would be an adventure for primary-age boys - going on the ferry etc.

Heaven Farm is in Sussex and is close enough to Brighton to enjoy the attractions there, while being right in the middle of Ashdown forest and next to the Bluebell railway. It's a lovely campsite with ducks and chickens running tame around the tents in the mornings and plenty of space for ball games and exploring :)

Gulliver's Land in Milton Keynes has a campsite. Apart from the theme park, it's right next to Willen Lake, which has lots of watersports, and Milton keynes has an XScape for climbing and snowsports.

My boys are little, so Sussex one sounds ideal

My parents used to take us kids there every year when we were little and now DH and I take DS. We love it :)

Oh, i'd recommend booking asap because they are restricted with numbers due to the area it's in so the pitches are booked up well in advance.
