Not blowing my own trumpet or anything - it's not that amazing - but I know quite a few of you were interested to see it! Grin

Aw thanks guys! Yes we did have a fair few comments - lots of people asking whether it was an old or new tent actually.

Wow, I love it!

We caved in and bought a bell tent last week instead of the Montana or Nevada. First trip tomorrow. I love how you decorated it. Can I see an awning and a windbreak? how did that work out? What awning was it? We're trying to work out our plan for a cooking/porch area (but for another trip) so very interested in everyone's set up for canvas tents.

Kingsroadie · 19/08/2011 11:01

Thanks Freezing! Yup an awning - from Karma Canvas (looks like the same one as on Belltent.co.uk website but slightly cheaper). I wanted to pitch it like picture 2 here www.belltent.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=57 but we couldn't manage it after several attempts so we ended up putting it nearly flush against one side and putting up like a diagonal - not great but served its purpose. Not sure that explains it very well though!

Re windbreak - I was going to get a nice canvas one after this initial trip if we thought we needed one but it was really windy so I bought a 6 pole one for £20 on the beach. It's quite shiny and not sure how long it will last but it will do for now! Had pointless bunting up for fun and used fairly lights inside in the evenings which I loved. Also had some running down guy rope from tent and up the awning pole to light the outside area too.

Kingsroadie · 23/08/2011 22:01

Hee hee - it is possible that the Emperor and 5m bell set up is my ultimate aim...Grin
