Suggestions for a comfy bed please

Over the years I literally feel like I have tried every camp-bed going and I have rarely had a good nights sleep. So I wondered from all the seasoned campers out there, what would be your recommendation for the best camping bed? I have tried blow up lilos (single and double), thermarest and old-style canvas thing where you attach the legs. No luck on any... please help.

Aerobed. Cost £99, DH nearly blew a fuse when he found out but after our first nights sleep gave me a big hug and said I can spend what I want on a bed.

So comfy, easy to inflate, even easier to deflate and put away. Not too big either.

Perfect.

Have you tried that memory foam/duvet thingy that was on dragons den the other day - looked fab, comfy and easy to wash too!

Another vote for aerobed! Just had a week on one and it was fab! Amazon are doing singles for £50, doubles for £80.

Get the dual zone one - even better!

check out Exped mattresses. We currently have the usual lightweight one, but have just ordered two extra wide ones, which self inflate, and can be joined together. I'm 7 months pregnant so comfort really is a priority for me at the mo.

They are pricey but there are special deals to be had if you shop around online. And they are so worth it. Good quality materials and they keep you very warm because they have layer of down inside which insulates you from the cold from the ground. (essential in Scotland, where we live and holiday)

Goodkate I did catch that on Dragons Den so will have a look at that.
I am currently suffering with a cold after my lilo burst in the night on my most recent attempt at camping, so being insulated from the ground is now a priority!!

forget air beds if you want warmth as well as comfort.... best bet is a thick self inflating matress (6cm or more). Heartily recomend thermarest base camp but they are ££s, or fat airics (now called dozers) gelert do a thick one too...

I have tried self inflating mats and aerobeds. I now sleep on a single aerobed topped with an alpkit dozer self inflating mat.....pure bliss.

The dozer alone is too low to the ground for me. The aerobed alone is too cold, together it is perfect.

I use two basic roll mats under my aerobed and also have a blanket or something on the aerobed - very comfy!

Aerobed active raised (which is what we have and it's fabulous) is half price direct from Aerobed at the moment. Can't link as posting from phone but a bargain at £49!

We got two Exped down mats as we were camping in April and I refused to be cold! We had to chuck off layers as we were too warm with pjs and duvet and blanket. And they were VERY comfy. Not the cheapest, but if DH and I don't sleep well no-one has a good time so worth it for us.

I think I would like a memory foam topper on top of my Basecamp Thermarest (should have just got the Dreamtime Thermarest, but when I had one delivered it was MASSIVE and i had to send it back!)

We use a air bed topped with two Fat Airics (pre Dozer), with a fitted sheet over to keep everything together. Brilliant. For overnighters, the Fat Airics on their own as found the air bed too cold and rolly/bouncy.
