How do you wash a sleeping bag? I've always dry cleaned but someone says the chemicals they use are nasty

and to do s bags on a service wash. But they seem to have weird instructions like taking them out of the dryer every four and a half mins etc.
What do other people do?

Bung them in the washing machine then stick them over the banister on the landing to dry.

I just bung them in the washing machine and hang them on the line to dry Smile

Yes, just a normal washing machine!

I put mine in a normal washing machine and dry them on the line. I make sure they stay there for ages until I'm absolutely certain they're bone dry to avoid mildew.

Our double one gets washed once a year at the launderette - we use a super king duvet cover inside as a bag liner though- singles just go in the washing machine at home.

thanks!

Put ours in the washing machine and line dry (only one at a time, though!)

acsec · 13/07/2011 21:46

I washed mine in my normal washing machine ad dried it on the line - waited for super sunny day!

FessaEst · 13/07/2011 21:48

I've done ours in the launderette as you can do more than one at once. I have always dried (& aired when needed) over the bannisters.

vogonmothership · 13/07/2011 21:58

Yes stick it in your washer!
Dry cleaner refused to dry clean my bed quilt as he said the chemicals could linger and may cause asphyxiation! Said this was normal policy

Batteryhuman · 14/07/2011 19:09

Service wash at the laundrette once a year.
