so I am fed up with the rest of MN (this whole mamazon shite really is the ,last straw), so I am assuming that if any of you are trolling you are showing extraordinary persistence by delving into the thrills of iceytec and are worth chatting to.

So anyway, hi, I am SeaShells, I have 2 dc and have been camping and trapsing through the Great Outdoors all my life. I hang out here as my love of camping is more a love of the countryside and life, and you lot have a similar outlook.

Sorry that was to glitter, new iPhone app makes it hard to remember who you are replying to.

Scaryt, bet you can't wait to pitch it at the weekend (it gets MUCH quicker etch time btw)

lostinwales · 06/07/2011 23:03

Ha Scary, it might be the best thing we ever do, it could also be the holiday that the boys remember for ever for all the wrong reasons..

Quenelle · 07/07/2011 10:17

Wow lost that sounds like a fantastic holiday. I would love to be at Alpe d'Huez watching the hillclimb. I will have to content myself with looking out for a woman with camping bedhead and sporting the death socks/sandal combo on the TV coverage.

Funtimewincies · 07/07/2011 10:49

Can you drool at the sound of a holiday? Well, I just have Grin!

Rock pegs sound a good plan. I too have pegs and bent pegs (increasingly more of the latter).

I've just bought 2 platic wine glasses from the supermarket in honour of this thread, as so far we've been using the kids beakers after they've gone to bed Blush.

lovecat · 07/07/2011 12:22

lost that sounds amazing! We will be looking

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes, how lovely of you :)

Funtimewincies · 07/07/2011 12:40

Really pleased that you had a goodtime lovecat Smile.

My dh too travels a lot to forn parts. He always brings the 2 ds something like a toy or a t-shirt. I occasionally get something (never duty free gin or perfume Sad). Last time he went to China, I got some cushion covers Hmm.

Grin at full slap when camping.

Quenelle · 07/07/2011 13:33

Grin at 'Camping by Estee Lauder'

Jeremy Vine was talking about the Clippesby Hall woman this lunchtime Sad. I didn't hear the full story but they were focussing on the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning if you bring your BBQ into the tent overnight when the embers aren't fully extinguished. Man from the Fire Brigade says to dowse with water to be 100% sure.

notwavingjustironing · 07/07/2011 14:14

Glad you had a good time at TT. I couldn't be bothered this time, I do find Robbie a tad irritating, like a showy off child, and the Circus tour was so good, I didn't want to be disappointed.

I thought you were going to say that he had brought you back some tent pegs or some briquettes for a Cobb or something. Fake white croc case sounds top banana! Maybe you could keep some camping paraphenalia in it just to keep him happy.

Treat yourself to some glowing pegs instead of a glowing complexion Grin

Slubberdegullion · 07/07/2011 15:41

Glad to bear you had a good b'day Lovecat. Makeup in fake croc case sounds interesting Grin

Slubberdegullion · 07/07/2011 15:42

hear obv, not bear

Stupid fat fingers

notwavingjustironing · 07/07/2011 15:47

I've just bought a collapsable colandar on line. For £2.99 plus free postage and packing. And Super Saver Delivery.

Oh yes, I know how to rock....

Slubberdegullion · 07/07/2011 15:51

you so do notwaving

Funtimewincies · 07/07/2011 16:53

I'd heard that they would be talking about it but didn't hear the discussion Quenelle. I put my Trangia and bottle as out of sight as I can manage (usually in the hedge) and away from the tent for this and fire reasons.

I was quite Shock at how quick they were to arrest her partner.

Quenelle · 07/07/2011 17:29

Yes Funtime, what an ordeal for the poor man. Just a really tragic story.

glitterkitty · 07/07/2011 19:00

Just booked another site, woo!

Thats us sorted!

Am so pleased- it sounds great... Grin Grin

Funtimewincies · 07/07/2011 19:16

Right! When dh gets back on Saturday, it will be to the news that we're camping the w/e after. I can't stand it any more Grin!

Where are you off to glitter?

lovecat · 07/07/2011 20:21

I'm truly blessed, Slubs :o

In one week's time I shall be packing for Latitude

Yes, glitter, where are you off to? [v. nosey parker emoticon]

glitterkitty · 07/07/2011 20:23

Ulwell Cottage (in purbecks near to swanage, studland etc) Mon to Fri, then Inside Park fri-mon (forest with big adventure play park and cycle trails).

Really excited- have been rearranging my camping boxes for days now. Will be first time with the iceytek- cold wine and butter and other luxuries!

Where you going to go funtime?

glitterkitty · 07/07/2011 20:24

Latitude! Shock

Now I am jealous. Really wish I was going.

SalomeD · 07/07/2011 20:28

Quick natter in the playground and now we're off for longggg weekend with two other families as soon as school breaks up. The DSs are soooo excited as we've booked Warcombe Farm nr Woolacombe so plenty of opportunity for sand castles and rock pools. Campsite is a bit less basic than we normally go to and other families wanted EHU pitches. So, its been an excellent excuse to while away an hour on the Towsure website as they had EHUs with RCD reduced to £30. Oh, and i treated myself to rock pegs too - thanks Slubber, the glow in the dark ones sounded irresistible! And then i treated myself to several other essentials so that I could get free delivery (fool, I hear you cry, but the dog will really appreciate a new ball launcher and a dozen rubber balls)

Funtimewincies · 07/07/2011 20:29

Back to Conwy Touring Park, hopefully, which is less than an hour drive from us and there's loads to do in the area. Big enough to book at the last minute too.

We're planning on going to Bishops Castle in August.

scaryt · 07/07/2011 20:41

lost - I can see how your trip could definitely go one of two ways, still jealous though.

lovecat - bless him, love that he managed to make a duty free gift into a handy camping accessory.

glitter - love the sound of Inside Park with the cycling trails onsite, adventure play park sounds brilliant but I appear to have birthed the most cautious 5 year old boy on the planet.

Well, have found a lovely friend who will lend me all the bits I need for camping at the festival. YAY!

Just need a BIG picnic blanket. We shredded one in the washer.

SeaShellsAndTheInlawInvasion · 07/07/2011 21:19

Hello! TT were fab, agree love cat, I have no idea what the national athem was doing, but it was fun to dance around to all the oldies. We had an amazing spot right near the stage in the middle, so lots of drooling going on (though mark looks seriously botoxed!)

Glitterkitty-ulwell park is in such a lovely area-let me know if you need any things to do help (local) :)

OP posts:
glitterkitty · 07/07/2011 22:05

Yes, any tips on things to do would be great- have been to the general area before but not for any length of time, thank you!

scaryt- DS is also cautious but I find watching other kids makes him keen to have a go (usually a day later once he has fully considered it Grin)

scaryt · 07/07/2011 22:09

It is reassuring to hear of other cautious children. He went on a trip with school and after studying each ride said, "I'm not too keen on that, maybe I will go on it when I am 6 or 7."

£16.50 for a tractor ride and train ride. but he said he had fun so that is all that matters.

The teacher (who is a friend) did call dh over at the end of school to say "I hope you've not booked for disney world!"
