I've just wasted 3 hours of my life searching on ukcampsite... tell me about nice campsite northumberland

I'm going slightly mad. Is it too much to ask?? I'm looking for a campsite for this summer. ideally a big field with a toilet block.... Im not even bothered by a hot shower!
no EHU, no club, no pool and no noisy people. would prefer not to be 6 inches from other tents but dont like regimented pitches either.
we like a good castle so were thinking northumberland in july would be nice. Normally we do north norfolk - breck farm is our idea of heaven but fancy a change

any ideas?

Dunstan Hill, its a Camping & Caravan Site near Dunstanburgh Castle. We had lovely hols there - went to Anwick Castle too where they filmed bits of Harry Potter - Kids loved it.

goswick sands (beachcomber campsite) is where we've been most often. Relaxed, and just off the beach (but the sea is a very long way away!)
But I am not sure that there are loads of great sites around this part of the world tbh.

fivesacrowd I was a little bit worried at some of the reviews saying how cramped it was an we'll be going in the summer holidays . did you find it too busy. sorry I'm so fussy!!

I have added beachcomber to my link of possibles.... any more suggestions gratefully received. you're right, elliott .... I thought there would be loads of nice sites but we may have to bite the bullet and go south coast instead at this rate

We went in August and it wasn't cramped. Staff lovely and helpful. Beach a bit of a hike away across a "field of Barley" but well worth the walk and you can go round the long way in car. Nice pub with beer garden and play area within walking distance (next village along coast). So good we're going back this year - worried it might be too cramped now though!

We went to springhill farm in seahouses last year. We went in September (but in school holidays as it was the weekend before my ds1 started school). It wasn't too busy or overcrowded. We only went for one night though but it was a Saturday.

There is a great childrens playground and fantastic clean showers but other than that its fairly basic which was fine by us.

Beach is not walkable but a 5 min drive in the car and its lovely. If it rains there is a small soft play right next to the beach that also serves fantastic fish and chips to take away or eat in their garden.

We'd definately go again.
