hi everyone, sorry I've not been around for ages :)

Has anyone been here? We are booked for the bank holiday but it is nearly fully booked...

Any advice on where to aim to camp/ any handy hints? I have a feeling it will be a mad dash for pitches fri pm Grin

It is huge and the pitches are unmarked, divided up by bushes and trees so no lines of tents. You just drive around until you find a spot you like the look of. We have been at peak times (august bank holiday) and although busy it did not feel overcrowded. If you have room for kids bikes and your DCs are old enough it is a great place for them to ride off and explore. Cycling in the Forest from there is good too.

Watch out for the ponies and donkeys. They are thieves and scavengers!

Shower facilities are a bit basic and can get busy when the site is full.

Oh and if wet it can get a bit boggy toward the back of the site.

Thanks! We've been to Hollands wood before, and saw some very crafty ponies lol - a kitchen tent got destroyed on site.
Really looking forward to it, we live locally but still love going :)
