Okay we go in about 2 weeks and I am so scared. We are travelling myself, my daughter 18 and a 10 yr old and 2 year old and 18 mths old! Any tips etc what to take to amuse the children etc would be great. We are doing Portsmouth- St Malo and got nice cabins and then return Roscoff - Plymouth. We used to take the girls all the time when they were young but guess I am the sole drive and really scared. How much are tolls etc roughly? We have booked in a tent as thought would be easier than in a mobile with two little ones.

Thanks in advance

There aren't any motorways between St Malo and Benodet so you won't have any tolls.

I haven't been to Benodet for years but I think it had nice beaches, and the countryside around it was lovely too if you wanted to go for walks, cycling etc. It was quite a posh area, not sure if it still is!

My mum, brother & me used to do Portsmouth - St Malo every summer when we were kids, I think dbro & I just used to run riot round the ferry for 8 hours or so, that kept us occupied Grin Seriously, I think it's worth taking games, books, colouring in... whatever would keep them busy if they get bored.

AW... thanks for the reply. We flew to the South of France two years agao and it was so so expensive. But we were are Port Grimaud near St Tropez. It was lovely but think we could of gone to the other side of the world for what we spent. Nicola x
