Arc LittleLife v Samsonite travel cot

We will be taking a one year old camping in August. Just wondering if anybody is familiar with both of these pop-up type cots and can tell me if its worth shelling out the extra for the Arc LittleLife. The main advantage of as far as I can see is that the LittleLife can be secured to the ground. Is there anything else I need to think about? many thanks.

We have the samsonite one, the larger toddler one.

It's fine, big enough but light and folds compact.

Ds was 9 months when we used it and learnt to move it whilst he was in it. Similar to a hamster wheel Grin

haven't seen the other one you mention.

We have the Arc, got it second hand so wasn't too expensive. Has worked well for us, as we bought the sun cover for it so could use it as a sun tent on the beach/in the field, and also reduce the light exposure to help with early waking. As DD is in our pod with us, I quite like being able to slip her in the side, and makes it easy to adjust blankets etc. Don't think we have ever pegged it out though. A small point, you need quite a lot of space to put the poles together - they are quite long!

Have no experience of the other one, sorry.

Hi. We had a littlelife twin arc (now called arc 4 I think) and it was great but the one downside to it was that the 'footprint' of it was huge because the end poles projected out wider than the actual cot iyswim? So you needed a space about twice the width of the actual cot (ie the bit the baby goes in) to put it up.

No other complaints though, they are very light and easy to transport and I got about 60% of the original price when I sold it on eBay after we were finished with it.

If I had to buy another one now I would probably get a Nomad cot, for the smaller footprint. More expensive but worth it I think. www.pushchairs.co.uk/acatalog/travel_bed_turquoise.html#a753

We have the NScessity pop up travel cot. Our DS (now 11 months) has slept in it a lot. We wouldn't want to be without it. We have used it for camping when he was 3 months old and again last week. We have never felt the need to secure it to the ground. We have the bigger size one but so far it has fitted everywhere we wanted to use it, incl. small ferry cabins.
