BoysAreLikeDogs · 26/04/2011 17:51

I had some very lovely globe chinese style battery lanterns last year from Tesco, perfect for dim lighting for the children at night

DuplicitousBitch · 26/04/2011 18:02

they have those again. i am tempted for the gardin

BoysAreLikeDogs · 26/04/2011 18:05

they are super priddy Blush

don't give much light, but enough to stop one tripping over one's guy*

*not one's guy, or even Guy, y'understand

Slubberdegullion · 26/04/2011 18:19

That is what luminous guys are for baldy mate. No need for lantern nonsense.

ArfurBrain · 26/04/2011 18:22

I have l.e.d fairy lights for camping. they are also fab for festivals.
I don't do Glamping any more though. Not since they gave it a Name and it became a verb.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 26/04/2011 18:29

luminous guys ?? tell me more

Slubberdegullion · 26/04/2011 18:35

Et voila!

Slubberdegullion · 26/04/2011 18:38

I have to admit to seeing a photo on ukcs of a family in our exact same tent with solar butterfly fairy lights encircling the centre pole and for one horrifying instant I thought how lovely they looked and how much the dds would love them

Then I got a hold of myself.

DuplicitousBitch · 26/04/2011 19:02

slubber, your tent screams out to be every so slightly glamped

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 26/04/2011 19:44

No it doesn't.

My tent sits very sensibly and stoutly and speaks in a quiet firm voice like Richard Burton reading Under Milk Wood.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 26/04/2011 19:47

Luminous guys

I will watch thread with interest cos I've just got new garden furniture and fancy some lanterny things to go with it all.

Re the boxes for the clothes, I got them from Sainsburys and Homebase. They have a black clip at each end to hold the lid on and the lid folds in half. They were on offer in Sainsburys around June/July last year and they are the smallest which is 24l. I put them in the car already packed and find that one each fits all our clothes and other bits. This doesn't include towels, fleeces and coats though. The kitchen boxes are bigger. More like the link earlier. HTH. Smile

chicaguapa · 27/04/2011 09:54

Just to add, we specifically didn't get the folding crates as they have holes in and we wanted to protect the clothes/food etc from creepy crawlies (and damp). Grin

I've also thought of another tip: if it's raining in the day, i would suggest putting the bedding etc in the car during the day to keep it dry. We had days of rain and the atmosphere made everything really damp.

chicaguapa · 27/04/2011 09:54

Sorry! Wrong thread. Blush

ArfurBrain · 27/04/2011 15:47

no chica - is relevant and useful!! (Unless the boxes are covered with Kath Kidston print and therefore cost a million pounds)

JemimaMop · 28/04/2011 21:16

I have luminous guys and faux Bridgewater spotty melamine plates and mugs. What does that make me?

(In my defence said plates and mugs came from a proper camping shop, the sort that also sells boiler suits and spanners, but they were all they had at the time)

Bohica · 01/05/2011 21:31

I want luminous guys.

B&Q have floral canvas chairs Smile
