Camping for a week in July. Where? And how to convince fair-weather DH that it's a great idea?!

We've camped for 2-3 nights at a time. Kids and I love it. DH is happy to camp in good weather but reluctant to commit for a week in case it's a washout. Now I know there's no guarantees on UK weather, but is there anywhere that would be a safe bet at the beginning of July?

We're near Glasgow and as we have 5 kids aged between 11 and 20 months I don't want to drive for more than about 5-6 hours. What's Yorkshire weather like?

We like the coast better than inland and would ideally like some sort of play area for the kids.

Any suggestions gratefully received - oh and top tips for week-long camping too :)

Golden Square at Helmsley is a good campsite. I have a 11 yr old DD and likes it there cause they've got bits for the older kids like zip wires, plus smaller bits for the younger. Plus its a bit inland to not have that windchill from the coast but nearer enough to visit Scarborough etc for the day.
The camping area is adjacent to the play area so you can generally see your kids from the tent.
