(Do I get the award for Most Ridiculous Thread Title of The Day? Grin).

We went to Waspbourne Manor last year, and loved it.

Open campfires, no strict pitching rules, no caravans, no electric hook-ups, just tents in pretty fields basically (and clean hot showers).

So this year we'd like to go to a similar-minded campsite, but I have been reading lots of reviews on here, and ukcampsites, and can't quite find what I'm after.

Can you guys recommend anywhere?

Looking at the South of England mainly, but would be willing to travel a couple of hours away from London in any directions (we're down in Kent).

TIA

Don't let a lack of showers put you off. We take a big plastic trug and boil a kettle or 2. It fine for us to stripwash and bath the kids in. Dryshampoo is my friend.

I second Forgewood - went last summer and have 2 trips planned this year! Aviation - is Welsummer really lovely? I've been thinking about it....

hillbilly - Not actually stayed at Welsummer, but have visited the site which looked lovely so I am going this summer! I thought Orchard Campsite looks great with similar appeal of open fires etc - its next on the list!

I second Britchcombe - absolutely lovely site. We're going to Wowo this year for the first time for a weekend in May. I'm excited!

Have booked Welsummer in June and Forgewood in August.

You guys are the best! Smile

I'm excited!

(can you tell?)

Thank you.
