My DH has persuaded me to buy a tent. Been researching massively. Can't decide between outsell Montana 6, vango marista 700, or higear sahara 6.

My other main concern is how we will it all the gear required into our not very big boot. How do you get 2 bags for tents, bedding for 2 adults and 2 children, chairs, stove, clothes, shoes, towels, cooking equipment and foot into a BMW 3?

montanas have great reviews. not looked at others so cant comment, but montana's are know to be fab family tents!
as for getting it all in the boot.. seriously, i think you will need a roof box... cant see how you can realisticly fit it all in the boot / foot-wells etc if you want to camp comfortably and take the equipment to do so

Second here for roof box, unless you're very minimalist you'll find plenty to fill it! Had a look at your tent shortlist, and would probably avoid the higear as it looks quite complicated to put up. If it's three bedrooms you're after, you could try the vango amazon. We have this and it's fantastic - the porch is brilliant because it gives loads of space if it's wet for cooking and sitting, without having to be inside.

Try to take just the essentials with you; I think there's a list on here somewhere about the best things to take.

Yes, it's the 3 bedrooms I think we need. I'll look at vango amazon. Thanks :)

Roof box, of course, duh!!! Blush

We have the Amazon. Has survived horrendous weather without leaking and loads of rain and wind. Can be a bit heavy to put up and the bag is big. Three bedrooms is good. We have myself and DH in the middle and one DS either side. Makes bedtimes and early mornings much better if they don't have to share!
