camping in Denmark

Anyone been camping in Denmark and got any recommendations?

We're thinking of going there this summer to visit friends and travel around Jutland although no idea where. I'm thinking a nice campsite near some decent beaches with other stuff to do suitable for preschool children.

Good Thread here

For beaches to play in, I would investigate campsites on Als, which is technically an island in Southern Jutland. You could take a daytrip to Aero or Funen from here to save a drive too.

The other side of Jutland (facing the North Sea) is more suitable for windsurfing, and beaches are more expansive etc.

Denmark is quite set up for preschoolers, nearly every campsite has a playground. Our little ones liked the living country musuem in Arhus, it's an old village where you can explore the houses and go inside etc. Egeskov slot on Funen is also a great place, maybe drive from Jutland or take the ferry over?

www.danishcampsites.dk/ and www.visitdenmark.com also good sites to look for camping information.
