Camping in norfolk

hi does anyone know any good campsites in the norfolk area. We live in the north west of england and have never been to this area and are looking at going in May.

We have 2 kids aged 11 and 3 so ideally would like a site that has facilities to suit them. I am not one for large commercial sites but the one thing I do stipulate is clean bathroom facilities.

We were looking at the cromer area. We fancy being near the coast and are looking for an old fashioned seaside holiday.

Any ideas gratefully accepted.

manor farm is brilliant. nice and spacious avery clean showers. really nice site, go there every year. its just outside runton/cromer.

go to wells for a lovely beach plus crabbing on the sea wall.
blakeney quay is nice too.

second recommendation for Manor Farm, we went last summer and it was brilliant, and the beach nearby (10-15 min walk) was lovely.

The site itself is well looked after and the toilets, showers are very clean .

Waxham is nice. A bit spartan but nice. Reviews here

Highly recommend High Sand Creek at Stiffkey, clean, well kept, quiet, well placed.

Third recommendation for Manor Farm, we were there last August. Brilliant!

Hi thanks for the recommendations, i have manor farm saved on my UK campsite search so will have to discuss with my OH and get things booked quite quickly as it seems like a popular site.

I also saved clippesby hall if anyone knows what that is like?

clipsby hall is more expensive,
someone mentioned stiffkey. thats a lovely site, but you will need to book that soon as it gets booked up quickly,

We are going to Clippesby Hall for a week in July, I have wanted to go for a few years but this id the first year I have got round to booking it early enough to get in.

I have only ever heard good things, is supposed to be fab, but agree is expensive.

Pinewoods at Wells is right on the fabulous Wells beach and the pinewoods - a big site, though.

Mollymax · 03/03/2011 13:51

Clippesby is lovely. Expensive but worth it. They have recently improved the shower blocks. Swimming pool is good but not sure if open in May.

ihatethecold · 05/03/2011 11:33

We spent about 10 days camping in Norfolk last year. We spent a week at Manor Farm, which was great. You can cycle to the beach if you so wish.
We also stayed for a few days at Thetford Forest here www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/siteseeker/aspx/details.aspx?id=9020&returnPage=search.aspx
It was good for visiting Bewilderwood and for cycling in Thetford Forest, which was fab.
