When do you start camping again?

I should keep away from this topic as it makes me want to go camping NOW...

So when does your camping year start? I note that a fair few sites don't open until April/May, is that the generally considered acceptable time to begin?

DH doesn't do cold and wet, I don't mind wet but object to cold, DD's happy so long as she's in a tent...

I know that there are those of you who camp in snow, I don't think I'm at that level of toughness as yet, but I'd love to know what your minimum weather/temperature tolerations are for camping - ie if it looks like it's going to be a nice weekend, do you just sling your stuff in the car and go?

I would love to go NOW, but realistically we usually wait until the beginning of May. Easter is late this year so we are planning on making our first trip that weekend.

I think I might risk Easter this year with ds (15) and dd (7) who are old enough to tough it out.

We are starting Easter week, coming home the day of The Wedding. Can't wait!

We have dernwood farm booked for the wedding bank holiday. If the weather is half decent in the Easter hols I may take dc's on my own down to Scotts farm in witterings

We usually go at end of May bank hol but our first outing booked is June this year

we will be trying out our brand new tent in my parents garden over easter and to a campsite near them for one night just because!!!

We go all year round - the boys love it. We have very good sleeping bags, lots of blankets, electric hookup for a heater, hot water bottles and me and all 4 boys wear tights. I never used to be this hardy but an outdoorsy husband and 4 intrepid boys has changed all that.

End of may this year, but may be sooner if it's warm. I have 2 under 3 though so it won't be a hardcore super early trip!

I'm going early April. My first ever camping trip.
