I got one of the neoprene covers as I thought it would be robust enough for camping. And it was cheap.

so does the screen not light up to the degree that one doesn't need a light? if so, that would be camping's best gizmo.

the screen is like a book so no is not back lit. i will wear a head torch which is a great look with diane von furstenbursten i hear

But how do you charge it in a tent? I have wondered about a kindle for camping/backpacking but can't see how it would work.

hmm. am i wrong in thinking that's a shame not to have option of back light? or does that break a kindle 'MUST BE LIKE BOOK' rule?
