I am on roll now. Can anyone recommend a site in north devon walking distance from a nice village with pubs etc and beach??? We are thinking of going for summer half term. Many thanks in advance.

We stayed (not camping) near Braunton last year and had a great time. Saunton Sands and Croyde nearby with pubs, nice cafes etc. can't recommend a campsite but but others can - this area is very nice.

There is a campsite in Croyde. I haven't stayed there myself but it's a lovely beach and there's a little vllage with a pub and ice cream shop.

Little Meadow www.littlemeadow.co.uk/

Fabulous view and lovely site. Fills up quickly though so you have to book.

Highly recommend Croyde as well. I have camped on various sites there but some of the ones that only open for a few months tend to get full of people without families and get very cramped and noisy. Ruda Bay one is good, clean and very close to the beach. It is a Parkdean one I think so has a clubhouse and swimming pool attatched to it which campers can use but the camping bit it doesn't interfere with the camping bit. Lovely beaches and lovely walks and lovely pubs. Think Croyde has a good website that gies links to all the sites might be good to google it.

we have stayed at Bay View Farm in Croyde and are hoping to go back again this summer. Croyde is fab... but Putsborough Beach, which is a short drive away, is an even nicer beach.

Many thanks for the suggestions. Sorry I forgot about this post. Sites look lovely, will give them a call tomorrow to try and book something. We only want to stay 4 nights so hopefully will find one that doesn't require a full week's booking.
