Can anyone recommend a good campsite in the Lake District please?
I'm looking to escape from the kids with an old friend in early September. She's a very experienced wild camper, I'm a complete camping virgin, but we've both reached the stage in our life where creature comforts are very important (i.e. good hot showers and a pub in walking distance 
). A village within a couple of miles of the campsite would be a bonus.
