Holiday parks in S Vendee

I got cheap flights to La Rochelle hoping to get a holiday pk accessible by taxi. Alas there are v few and I don't fancy car hire. I have provisionally booked La Pignade but have reservations as we did a Haven holiday in the UK and it was awful! I am going at the end of June early July. I have an 8yr old who loves flumes a 3yr old and a nearly 2yr old by then. I have seen some beautiful places on ile de re and oleron (no flumes but I could cope I'm sure). However I'm wary about mosquitos as it is close to marshland. Are they much worse than anywhere else? Is that really low season for the iles I would hope there would be other kids on hols too.
Anyway all tips welcome. I like the idea of being near a beach and a town/village.
Thanks :)

We've just booked for a place in La Tranche Sur Mer. Near the beach and apparently there's a water park there too. Not been there before but further north, but looks reasonable :)

Tranche looks lovely. Are you going to hire a car? Who did you book with? There is so much choice my head is spinning!

Camping Bel is nice, walking distance to beach, town and supermarket. Nice area for cycling too. Eurocamp and keycamp have pitches. It's in La Tranche sur Mer. Would be good for kids of your ages as it's slightly better for younger ones imo. No flumes though.

Camping Bel is where we're going! We've booked it through the Sun Holidays offer, but we'll be taking a car. I did notice though it was near to things like the town, the beach etc. The water park is a separate entity, nothing to do with where we're staying... its listed as a local attraction.

If it's at main swimming pool, it's just over the road from Bel :)

We've booked two weeks at la garangeoire at that time, so we'll be there! It's a bit further north so might be a bit far from la Rochelle by taxi, and I think it's a drive to the beach too (quite near les Sables d'Olonne, I think) - it's been highly recommended by friends and gets a good review on here too i think. We booked (also on recommendation) through les Castels, but Canvas and Thomson also use the same site I think. The kids' club and the free babysitting service don't start till July I don't think, but we're not too bothered about that.
