Dry quick, wipe clean camping clothes

I've just bought the kids and DH Peter Storm trousers and me and the kids water resistant, breathable fleece zip up tops. I'm hoping this means that they will dry out really quickly if we get soaking wet and can be wiped clean easily, so that I don't have to pack many spare clothes.

Would I be being stupid to not pack as many clothes as normal because I've got these? Does anyone else have these sort of clothes and find that they don't have to take as many spare clothes?

The waterproof trousers which go over normal trousers? or the sort that you wear as normal trousers that dry quick?

If its something that will keep you dry ..then yes i guess you won't need as many standby clothes.I'm not too bothered about dirt tbh.
Where you going ... (humour me ..i'm bored and need to talk camping)Smile

Well me and DH have got the trousers you wear as normal but dry quick and I think the kids ones they should probably wear their trackies or leggings underneath.

I'm hoping they won't be really sweaty (they do say breathable) because then you get wet on the inside anyway. I'm not very bothered about dirt either (DH is more bothered), just didn't like taking loads of clothes for when we kept getting wet in the summer and the wet clothes didn't just dry 'on their own' in the tent, car or makeshift washing line.

We are going near Tavistock but we also want to camp somewhere next half term. We probably need to be a bit more prepared than in the summer now it's getting colder. Although it was torrential the 3x we went over summer and we were still ok.

Do you camp all year round?

No easter to october half term is my limit
I don't do proper cold Grin

I think your kids should be pretty good in the trousers with joggers underneath.

We have the dry quick ones and they are good ...but you get cold easily if you are going to let them dry on you. Dh does'nt feel the cold because he is not normal Wink..but i get cold and then miserable. I usually take em off and hang them inside tent to dry.

Ah thank you for doing 'camping talk' with me, I love it!

How quickly do your trousers dry? I haven't got mine properly wet yet to test them. Mine are Craghoppers which were going cheap.

I'm planning to wear leggings underneath if it gets cold. My DH doesn't feel the cold much either. He hangs out of the sleeping bag (I'm not being rude haha) because he says I make it too hot.
