Touring caravan or static caravan for beginners?

Hi all, me and mine love camping but frankly im getting fed up of the faff and lack of home comforts, so we're considering going to a caravan. What's better a static or a tourer? i fancy a tourer but dh fancies a static. What is best?

Depends if you want to see many different areas of the country or just the one place that you love tbh!

I have a tourer and love it. We have considered a static but a tourer is much cheaper. If you are a beginner, I would buy second hand to start with.

Site fees for a static can be around £3000 per annum plus utilities.

We are hoping to buy a big 6-berth tourer when (if) our house sells. Not to live in I hasten to add!

Caketinrosie, go to the Caravan show at the NEC in october to help you decide!

id prefer to find one place that i love with stuff for the kids but 3000 a year site fees??? yikes!

Some sites allow you to rent out your caravan which helps cover the costs but you get the most money in peak season which is when you'd probably want to use it most.
