Hi, anyone been to eweleaze farm? If so do you have any wet weather recommendations? Kids are from baby to 4.5 years....

Sorry, we had glorious weather there last year so can't help - one bit of advice though: try not to set fire to any hay bales. Particularly not 12 of them in high wind ;-)

You will have a lovely time!

We went to the tank museum at Bovingdon on a wet day in Dorset, all indoor except for a short display with tanks on an outdoor track - was surprisingly interesting.
There is also the Aquatic centre in Weymouth which is mostly undercover but is better to visit when dry and it's expensive if you don't have vouchers.
And the kids enjoyed trips on the steam railway near Swanage.

Biggest problem with wet days on Eweleaze is the hideous steep winding track to enter/leave the site turns into very slippery mud and the car slides. Our car did a 180 degree skid and we were lucky not to slide into a tent.

And take antibac gel, there are no basins at the toilets (and wash up points are cold water only). Contrary to reviews from last year there are now clear steps down to the beach though!

EColi I think I know who you are, were you there last week?

tulip27 · 18/08/2010 21:49

Ecoli, just looked up your last posts and it is you, hello, We were in the tent next door (not the noisy 15 year olds). The children havn't stopped talking about your 2 since their return. We bailed on Friday in the end too. Hope all is well with you all and thankyou once again for helping with the coffee on the final morning.

Oh and Hettie hope you have a lovely time, we went to Corfe castle when it rained but still got a little wet.

Tulip - That is so funny although I had a feeling that you were a MNer :) I had a grilling from ds about whether he would ever see your children again! Drove back through torrential rain so glad we left when we did.

(sorry for the hijack Hettie!)

hettie · 18/08/2010 22:07

no worries re hijack Smile
so I'm either going to go up in flames or go down in the mud Grin
Thanks for the tips......
keep your fingers crossed for a glorious bank holiday
