which sleeping bag liner for warmth?

I need some help please. We are camping next weekend and whilst the family have nice warm, cosy sleeping bags mine is old and cold. I only got warm by wearing my thick dressing gown and my big wooly jumper

I was thinking that maybe a liner would be an idea rather than buying a new one, but am not sure which is best - fleece sounds sensible but others say silk is best?

Thanks

I think fleece is cosier, espeially if you start off a bit cold. Made a massive diffence with my old bag. get your feet warm too with hot water bottle/bed socks

I've got a fleece liner and am toasty in it!
Second the socks too!
