I have a few questions about camping - trying to convince myself I will love it!

Never been camping before but am considering the great outdoors, so my questions are:

what to you actually do once you have pitched up, ie do you then go on days out/stay on site?

What do you do about snoring, ie from your tent or others?

How do you keep warm during the day in a tent?

Can you tell I am a complete novice at this?

The B E has already covered most of what I would say. Although I just wear a normal vest top under my t shirts when camping and a windproof jacket if it's chilly. If the sun comes out you will have more trouble staying cool in your tent than warm. It can go cold a night though, put extra layers eg blankets underneath you sleeping bag and wear a hat in bed.
Above all have fun, remember no house work, find a site with a kids play area and a shop for you first trip, the kids will meet other kids and give you 5 minutes to put your feet up.

Thank you for the replies. The theory behind camping appeals, not sure if I can cope with the reality though Grin.

I have an airbed with a quilted matress cover, a sheet and a blanket over it, I get hip pain if I get cold and then I can't sleep. Oh and I have a large 4 season sleeping bag. My kit has taken years to perfect we add things and throw things out all the time. You won't get it right the first time so try to go with an open mind and while you are away think of ways that you can make it easier/more comfy.Smile
