Couple of nights spare in France, where would you go?

We have two nights to get from Ile D'oleron to Zeebrugge, so we were thinking of having a couple of nights in one place. I thought near Paris and take the DC's (5&6yrs)to see the Eiffel Tower etc but DH thinks they won't really appreciate it. Can't afford Euro disney!
Is there anywhere else people would recommend? Doesn't have to be Paris area just in the vague direction of Zeebrugge.

Not sure if it's too far out of your way but the Sea Life Aquarium at Boulogne-sur-mer is fab. Coupled with the lovely beach at Le Touquet Paris Plage, I reckon the dcs would like it.

oh, there is a theme park in Picardy - I think - is it Asterix??? Will google...

luciemule · 09/08/2010 23:31

Yep - the Asterix parc is really close to Paris..... je crois!

\link{http://www.picardy.org/themeparks.cfm\there are 3 theme parks there apparently} - Asterix, a prehistoric one & a Wild West one???}

Picardie is the bit between Paris & Calais so it's on the way to Zeebrugge Smile

Puy de fou in the vendee is a fab day or 2. Stay at camping au bois du ce, its right next door. And its on your way down to the gironde.

Stay at 4 vents camping - really good, has a pool and massive pitches. You can get the train from toran into paris so you can leave your car. Also a really nice medival village called Provins nearby where they do a good birds of prey show
