Securing tent?

How do you secure your tent when you leave it for the day?

DH says it is like leaving a bag on your seat on the train, when you go to the loo, people just respect that it's yours and leave it

I think little padlocks on the zips, am I the daft one?

Padlock pointless surely, someone will just knife it if they want to nick stuff

Just don't leave valuables and hope for the best

padlocks are pointless.. and look like there's something in there to nick - just take all valuables with you.

We have never secured our tent just taken all valuables in the car with us when we go out or locked them in the car if we are walking from the campsite.

Yep, sorry, your DH is right. I've never worried about security in a tent, just put any valuables in the car and you'll be fine. Padlocks are like a neon sign to anyone with bad intentions saying "valuables in here".
