If something has a given 'hydrostatic head', presumably it is waterproof?

I am looking at getting a day tent as I can't get anyone to reroof my gazebo with something waterproof (which we currently use as a day tent- we camp in 2 family groups and like to have somewhere to congregate out of the weather). IF the product's description states a given 'hydrostatic head' am I right in thinking this means it is waterproof to that extent?

As far as I am aware yes. The higher the hydrostatic head the more waterproof it is iyswim.
