Am I the only one who gets the creeps about intruders when in a tent? Any tips on trip wires (apart from tents own) or alarm bells etc. When with my DH its fine - hes a huge 6'7 but when alone I don't sleep as I'm on constant watch. (had a bad experience at Glastonbury 15 years ago waking up to intruder!) I'm going camping twice this summer with DC alone. Would be nice to relax at night without valium!

Youa re not serious, are you ?
I too had pissed people trying to get into my text at a festival, many yers ago, thinking it was theirs. i told them to get lost and had a little laugh about it.
what kind of campsite are you thinking of going to ?
because this doesn't happen on the one we go to in dorset.
If you don't feel safe, are you sure its a good idea to go.

ok, without wanting to scarce anyone, when I was a kid (13years old) while we were sleeping someone/people came in a robbed us They would have been able to see us all asleep and tbh I didnt go camping fora long time and my mum had to sell the tent and buy a caravan
I always camp with DH now but do find it hard some nights to sleep.
I'd be intrested to know about alarms ect but could see DH getting up in middle of night and setting them off

I think it's more of a festival than a family campsite occurrence.
At home I have mobile chimes on the garden gate. You could have something like that, maybe attached to the zip.
Empty wine bottles near the entrance?
Leave a bike, or something else biggish, in the way?
