It's eleven days 'til we go for our camping holiday in France - and I'm getting so excited/nervous that I can hardly think about anything else. We're going for 3 weeks (itinerary = Champagne - Ardeche - Cote d'Azur - Auvergne - Champagne). We've done our two practice camping weekends in this country, and loved it (DH had never slept in a tent before, I hadn't since I was a student).

I've planned the route, confirmed the bookings, checked our passports are in date, got our EHIC cards, breakdown cover, travel insurance, bought the warning triangle, GB sticker and all that, and DH has got his speedos (that was a shock for him when he found out ) I've been planning this holiday so long that I can't believe it's finally coming around.

I keep looking at the checklist feeling as if I've forgotten something...

I am sure you will be fine. We always forget at least one thing.

Have a fantabulous time.

Thank you, I think we will! Funny how going to hotels with the same itinerary wouldn't seem like an adventure at all, but this feels very famous five (must pack ginger beer...)

....bottle opener, matches, credit card....
We have so many corkscrews from forgetting and replacing!

Hi-vis vests?
You will have an amazing time - each too much cheese, drink too much wine and we're going next Thursday!

Enjoy it

Lucycat before you go, do I need to pack rockpegs or is the ground unstony????

Sorry for the thread hijack Bec

Lucycat · 12/07/2010 21:11

no, rockpegs not needed at LV, the soil is a touch sandy if anything and as the pitches are shaded they don't bake iyswim.

giddy little smile

no worries Batteryhuman - we're all off on our adventures it seems! There's definitely a festive feel to the camping board - awaaay we gooooooo

Thanks for the tips - I'll doublecheck those ones... We've got the hi-vis vest in the car already. Last camping trip I remembered to pack the corkscrew, the bottle opener, the matches, the insect repellent, the dustpan and brush, the washing up bowl (camping equivalent to packing the kitchen sink ).... but forgot to pack clean underwear for myself
