Chat GPT has revolutionised my diet!

I read another MNer say that she’s been asking Chat GPT for recipes for a while so I thought I’d give it a go.

OMG! It’s a revelation. The only 2 macros I care about is Calories and Protein and since asking Chat GPT for healthy, high protein recipes I’m hitting 120-130g protein daily, and am well under my TDEE with no hunger.

I’ve just finished a stonking chicken ramen which used up lots of fridge stuff and gave me 42g protein for 300cals.

Tonight I’m going to make pesto salmon, again courtesy of AI.

Just thought I’d offer up this little PSA.

Same! It's been life changing! 😆

Oh what a brilliant idea, thanks OP!

It’s great. I need to make meals with exact calories for my child who has anorexia and I use it all the time

I use it for all my meal planning now!

Youcallisimportant · 30/07/2025 13:37

I also use Chat GPT to analyse my diet. I tell it what I’ve eaten and it will tell me how balanced and nutrient dense it is, what is lacking for the day and how to make up the deficiency. For example need to increase omega-3 etc.

CVVFan · 30/07/2025 13:37

Mine keeps making mistakes so I don’t trust it

1699forsomevitaminswtf · 30/07/2025 13:44

Grok via Xtwitter is also good for this. And as an added extra - has anyone tried low level counselling/advice via AI? Because I have and it’s amazing. Much more useful information and links were provided rather than “breathe the box” that I got from one counsellor and utter gobbledygook from another.

QuantumLevelActions · 30/07/2025 18:17

I use it to identify the best choices to make when eating out. It's great, gives advice about calorie and fat content but also other nutrients.

Princesspollyyy · 30/07/2025 18:30

This seems like a good idea, however Im not sure whether to listen to someone who still uses the word ‘stonking’ 😂😂

socks1107 · 30/07/2025 18:31

I use it for diet, working out calories and adjusting the next day if today hasn’t been so good on macronutrients.
lost 2stone and 5lb so far

ChatGPT is the same ai for everyone. It does make mistakes but on the whole it's extremely accurate when it comes to things like food tracking. What kind of mistakes are you seeing?

bindin · 30/07/2025 20:49

I tried this but found the suggestions not very inspiring

it just keeps giving different values, adding different amounts, etc… this was just from yesterday (and then asked about why the mistake)

ChatGPT told me soured cream was swimming world syn free the other day. It makes lots of mistakes

I love chatgpt, but it's still rubbish with numbers. It's fine for recipe ideas, but if you want to count calories and macros accurately, get an app made for that purpose (e.g. Nutricheck).

Exactly! It’s a language based model which is why it’s terrible at counting.
