It’s half term where I live. We live rurally, and the kids get a MacDs or Burger King about 3 or 4 times a year. We’re planning on going to the city this week, and of course they are expecting a trip to a burger place.

I’ve been really watching my diet since January and have lost half a stone. Another half a stone to go. I’ve looked at the BK calories online and they are even worse than anticipated!

My kids eat this type of food so rarely that I don’t want to say no, we’re not going.

I’m thinking of getting just a burger (around 500 cals depending on which one) and no sides. Does this sound like a good compromise?

Perfect way to do it op. There’s nothing wrong with the occasional fast food item, especially if you get back to your usual calorie counting the next day. Enjoy!

Chicken nuggets from McDonald's are a good choice calorie/protein wise

Apparently in kfc the zinger box is good calorie wise and as it's chicken it's not bad for protein.

McDonald's is lower in calories, you can get a wrap for under 400cals or a fillet of fish and chips for around 600. They also do salads.
