I prefer NutraCheck. I paid for the annual membership which was £27 for the year

@Dhamaneedsanewjob is there a free version? Would rather not pay if I can help it.

I'm still using my fitness pal. I can't see any difference with it to any other app. Also I know how it works after so many years and so many diets 🙃so feels easier and quicker. I don't want to pay for an app either so it works well for me.

Yes I think so. I have never paid for an app before but I was sick of the adverts on MFP and I wanted a bit more info etc and MFP premium was stupidly expensive for what it was.
I was also finding that lots of barcodes weren’t scanning either which was annoying.

I like that on NutraCheck I can see what my calories etc are over a week. I chose to start my week on a Friday so if I go over my calories on a weekend I can see how many I have for the week and what I need to be eating for a deficit. It has a separate column for exercise calories that I can use or not and so on.

I found it more user friendly by far and it’s UK based I think so when you’re searching for foods you don’t get all the American brands etc. I used MFP for years and liked it well enough but tried a change following a friends recommendation

Nutracheck is far more customisable and easy to use compared to MFP. Also UK food database and verified entries. Worth the annual cost in my view.

I use MyNetDiary

I have the pro paid for version, but pretty sure the free version has all the basics.

They do frequent updates. Enjoying the Intermittent fasting functionality they've recently added. Really helps to keep me focused and stopped whinging that I was skipping breakfast.

I like the photo option for adding foods it doesn't have in its database. You take a photo of description and ingredients and usually within a day it's been added to the database at their end so you've got all the breakdown of protein etc. updates to your original entry if just weight/calories.

I like how you can reset your current 'starting' point for the graphs and progress charts, but still have all your details from when you started using it (option to remove if you want)

There's loads of functionality I've not even got around to trying.

I use MyNetDiary as well.

It has new UK foods very quickly.

Cronometer, there’s a free version.
loads of inaccurate info on mfp
when I researched the various options cronometer and nutracheck came out as being most accurate.
its easy to use desktop and phone app.

myfitnesspal is the one I prefer personally. I like the weight loss graphs and that you can save a photo for each weight you record. The bar code scanning is useful and their database of foods is enormous. I like that I've been using it for 12 years and haven't had to pay a penny.

I like MFP. I did have a premium trial at one point but didn’t want to pay to keep it as I find the basic does what I need. I have some scales linked to an app for record of weight. I have my recipes in MFP too and I do tend to eat the same foods when on a diet so take me 2 mins to update it daily

Another nutricheck devotee here. All the uk supermarkets and food outlets are in it. So much easier than MFP

I use a great app with a terrible name, "FatSecret". It used to be called something else I think. Anyway, it's a good food and weight tracker and works on Apple Watch too. Does the job for me.

I'm still using MFP too. I noticed on a FB group I'm in that in the US, they've taken the bar code facility away and put it in the paid for bit.

I find it fine.

Another vote for Nutracheck here. Had used MFP for ages and never normally pay for apps, but the ads on MFP were really annoying when using it on my smallish phone. Tried Nutracheck and would not go back now. It is a UK based app so much more useful and relevant than MFP, good interface, barcode scanner works well, customisable, friendly forums if you want to use them. Well worth the investment.

Another vote for nutracheck. Great UK database and lots of useful features like the week view and the chance to display carbs plus kcal at a glance

I use yazio which I switched to when mfp was hacked. They also store your data in the EU not the US so if you don't want Facebook seeing what biscuits you eat that's also an advantage.

Nutracheck for me too. I like the fact it covers lots of uk supermarkets, brands and national food chains. I think MFP is more user generated content too, which I wasn't keen on (that may have changed, it's been a while since I used it).
