I am doing MFP . Mostly I’m maintaining my weight after losing 2 stone 3 years ago but recently I just can’t stop eating .

I demolished 1000 calories of crap today and still haven’t allowed for dinner although I have a pain from crap food .

i am starting over now today ( not tomorrow) and just needed to write it down . I don’t generally restrict food groups but maybe I need to restrict chocolate for a few days to get the cravings gone . I ate 100 cal chocolate every day I lost weight so I know I can .

i do have lots of stress going on so I know it’s partly that . Anyone else in same boat ?

I’m on a similar journey to you op, I lost two stone at the start of the first lockdown and got into the top half of my healthy BMI. I got into a good habit of lots of regular exercise and didn’t have to count so religiously to maintain the weight loss. After Christmas, I decided to ramp the pace up with exercise, losing another stone and really toning up.

I’m in a really good habit now. Weekdays, I make healthy choices and only eat what I need. Weekends, I loosen up and eat what I want, but smaller portions than I would have had in the past. Being active makes me crave foods which will fuel me and I find it easy to refuse junk food.

I do find though, if I loosen up too much and eat too many sugary things, my cravings for junk go absolutely haywire and I just want to eat EVERYTHING. The only way I can curb it is to go cold turkey on sugar and back to strict counting for a couple of weeks.

I’ve realised that I’ll never just be able to eat snacks with reckless abandon again.
