What is going on!???!!!

I’m 5ft 10in and weight 11st 4lbs. Therefore I’m not massively overweight but I’m a stone heavier than I was 3 years ago. I’m 40.

I’ve been doing Slimfast for 3 weeks. I never eat breakfast so don’t have a morning shake. I have one shake at lunch time and a 600 calorie meal on an evening. With tea and coffee throughout the day I’m consuming around 1000 calories a day. I’m doing at least 10,000 steps a day and going to gym 3 times a week.

I lost 2lbs in the first week and have been stuck on 11st 4lbs ever since!!! In fact this morning I’m nearly 11st 5lbs!!!

This isn’t logical!? I don’t believe in starvation mode. How the hell am I maintaining on 1000 calories a day? I’m certainly burning off more than I’m taking in! Doesn’t make sense and I’m getting so frustrated.

Only other thing is I’m constipated. But surely inff sad hound still be losing at least 1lb a week??

Thanks everyone. My stomach bloated up so badly yesterday and now I’m shitting through the eye of a needle. I also couldn’t complete my gym workout on Friday as I’m just too weak.

I’ve upped my calories to 1400, am ditching the slim fast and have bought a fish and high protein meals. Will see if it makes any difference

I think you need to get laxatives to deal with the constipation from the iron tablets. Speak to your doctor. I’m sure you’d feel better if that were helped!

Sounds like you need regular laxatives if on iron as pp says. That will be having an impact. I lose quite slowly, always do. It’s annoying, but it adds up. So I have nearly 1000 deficit per day but been losing less than 1lb some weeks. But when I look at it over time I can see I’m losing. I lost 24lbs in 2020, then gained about 18 of it back! Currently 5lbs down in January so happy I’m on the right track again, it’s helped that I’ve not been for any meals this month, thankfully once was cancelled!

I am SO SO pleased you have ditched the Slimfast. It does not foster healthy eating habits and is horrible stuff. Hope you are feeling better now. How is it going?
