Hi. I need ideas that don't take forever and don't involve cooking from scratch. I know this leaves out sauces.

Although I know there are only so many things you can do with vegetables and chicken.

Thanks.

It’s cooking from scratch but quick and easy

Hi thank you.

I was just going to make a post to ask what I can eat per meal.

What can I eat with Avacado?

Grilled salmon with cous cous/rice/ quinoa and steamed veg
If you are up for a chop everything and sling it in the slow cooker:
The "eat well for less" lamb tagine with 100g lamb per a person and a few less apricots with green beans on the side.
"Cooking on a bootstrap" Jack's bean chilli.
Regular chilli with 83g per person of 5% fat mince. Bulk out with peppers and sweetcorn
Both chillies can be served with quinoa.

Marinating the meat in both the tagine and the chilli with improve the end result for not a lot of work.

Hi does anyone know whether risotto is ok to eat? I wasn't sure you could eat rice when counting.

Just made my first from scratch. Was surprisingly really nice.

There's not much I dont eat when calorie counting!! Just some things are in smaller amounts than others and a lot more veg!
Cooking on a bootstrap do a brie and bacon rissotto which is a weekly staple for us. I reduce the bacon to 50g a person and rice to 40g, add 100g mushrooms 80g frozen peas and served with green veggies on the side. Is gorgeous and very cheap

Large omelette with loads of onion, peppers etc.... wee bit cheese and/Or bacon and a big crunchy salad

Baked potato and beans again a big crunchy salad

I'm not much of a cook as you can probably tell Blush

Bacon, herb Philadelphia and pasta. It's my go too when I'm in a rush/can't be bothered.

Fat free quark, cottage cheese or lightest Philadelphia are my go tos, all have lots of protein to keep you full for not a lot of calories. I'm missing hummus, but it's really high calorie, so have just made this to try www.theslimmingfoodie.com/caramelised-onion-hummus/ .

Apples are really good - try and get sour ones, as that kills food cravings. They are cheap and low GI. Swede is a good thing to eat too - if you have something else cooking in the oven, make a tray of sliced Swede with a spray oil and a half a teaspoon of dried rosemary, then let it roast at the bottom of the oven. It makes a filling low carb treat. Also incredibly cheap as a whole huge Swede is about 60p in my supermarket right now.

Gwenhwyfar · 27/02/2022 11:29

Swede is so hard to peel though. I never bother with it for that reason.
