Calorie counting query

I calorie counted for a while and now reached my goal weight. Therefore from Friday-Sunday I don't calorie count and eat what I want. But Monday-Thursday I try to stick to 1200-1300 calories.

Does anyone know if this is ok to do so? Am I messing up my metabolism? Will I end up gaining weight if I don't do my calorie counting for 3 days a week? I did google this but can't find an answer relevant to my question

Have a look at the community pages on My Fitness Pal . I'm sure there will be some tips and advice there. You dont need to be a member to look at the posts.

I found I managed to maintain my weight loss without counting anymore.

You need more calories to maintain than you do to lose so in theory, yes your idea could work. The problem is low calories some days and free days at the weekend may put you over your maintenance calories over the course of a week.

Basically, yes you can eat more on 3 of the days but you still have to count what you eat to ensure you stay at an overall maintenance level.
