I want to lose weight!!!

I have been inspired by someone on my Facebook who has lost around 4 stone in the past year calorie counting using MFP.

Does anyone else want to join me?

I've got the app, been using it for 6 days and lost a whopping 6lbs already.

I need some others to help keep me going & share recipes, tips and motivation with!

@MarineBlue33 it doesn't always recognise the scan but you just type in what you are eating including brand name like: Tesco pesto sauce or McDonald's Big Mac or Heinz ketchup, and as pointed out it sometimes defaults to 100g rather than actual serving size. You must weigh or measure too as people tend to underestimate.

I'm a new convert to MFP, but am finding it's really helpful. I thought I was eating really healthily, but my portion control was badly out of whack, and I was eating a lot of calorie-dense food (especially cheese). I like the way you can log all the ingredients for a particular recipe - I cook for myself a lot, and even if the end result is slightly out, it gives me a lot more freedom than only cooking recipes from diet books. I've chosen a calorie limit for the week which is slightly lower than weekends, so that I can have a glass of wine (or two) at weekend, and I'm hoping that this pattern of eating & drinking is much more sustainable for me.
