Pre lockdown bridesmaid dress!

I have to get into my bridesmaid dress for my brothers wedding. The wedding was postponed from last year so after a couple of lockdowns I have put on a few pounds.

I have about 11lbs to loose and 9 weeks to do it so I think it should be doable!

Aiming for 1lb a week and then a last ditch 1200 calories for two weeks beforehand.

Just starting the thread for motivation and accountability.

Aiming for cals in of 1650 and cals out of 2050 each day roughly.

Anyone fancy a pound a week hand hold?

Have you got your dress yet?

I got the hooks fastened today! I feel like the zip would go up but didn't want to force it. I think I might just do this!

4 weeks today.....

The hooks! Then the zip is on your horizon. I also think you might just do this Smile

No dress yet. I’m not set on a particular anything, so I’ll just wait until nearer the time and go on a determined shopping excursion.

What kind of wedding will you be having?

I am booked onto 3 exercise classes tonight, seeing how slim I was last year on a photo has increased my determination massively!

Just a really quiet one - only 10 of us, registry office, posh lunch. I have too many people to invite to a big one so, as I’m not that fussed about all the stuff, a small one will suit us just fine. We’ve been together for ages, already have a house etc.

THREE! Nutcase! Grin

MindTheBumps · 21/07/2021 12:09

That sounds like a perfect wedding to be honest!

well I have averaged 1lb per week so far, need to up it to 2lb for the last 3 weeks to be comfortable so I am skipping breakfast as the easiest way to cut a few more calories. It's only a few weeks after all, I can manage for that long.

Glad you’re still motivated! You’re nearly there - hurrah for heatwaves destroying appetites.

I had a weekend of delightful junk because my dad came to visit, but so far this week I’m smashing it.

MindTheBumps · 22/07/2021 13:28

its been a godsend for keeping my calories down, no-one wants to snack in this weather.

ah you have to make the exception when you have visitors. well done for getting back on the wagon and carrying on.

2 weeks to go and I am 10lb down.

The hooks fasten easily but the zip is still not quite there. feeling confident that it will be ok on the day though.

I was really proud of myself on Saturday we went to another wedding and I managed to behave at the buffet table.

How are you getting on?

OP posts:
dollyboots · 26/07/2021 13:41

If you can survive the buffet test, you are invincible. That zip is toast.

Mmmm…toast.

I’m alright! Getting back on track after last weekend saw me lose a couple of pounds and I’m happy enough with that. And when it stops being either a) thunderous rain or b) 30+ degrees, my walks will be regular again.

MindTheBumps · 26/07/2021 14:48

We managed to avoid the thunderstorms that were predicted but looks like two solid weeks of rain coming up here.

Do you have much to lose?

I might even be able to do the zip AND breathe as well if I keep up this pace ha.

Goals!

Yeh, I lost a couple of stone, then I’ve not done much since lockdown, and I’ve a couple more to go. But slowly slowly for me.

MindTheBumps · 28/07/2021 11:53

Slowly is the best way. I am still a stone heavier than I was in November, I managed to gain almost two stone since then but I don't need to lose it all for the sake of the dress.

dollyboots · 28/07/2021 19:35

No, absolutely not! Just enough for that zip, then enjoy the day.

MindTheBumps · 04/08/2021 09:31

It fits! cutting it fine with exactly a week to go but I have done it.

Thank you :) I am so happy. Just being careful for the rest of the week to make sure no bloating or weight gain now.

Feel free to keep checking in with your progress in the run up to your wedding. It's been so helpful having your support.

Just read through thread, well done! That's amazing determination. I am in the same position with being bridesmaid for friend I. 14 weeks. Similar size to you I think, currently 10stone and would love to get to at least 9stone. Only 5ft 2 so it's really showed up on me.

AndTime · 24/08/2021 12:26

Good luck @ballyboy you can do it!! Slow and steady, 14 weeks is plenty of time.

I am 5ft 2 too and we can't get away with anything can we!!
